Kemps ridley turtle nesting at its only nesting beach in
Rancho Neuavo, Mexico. These turtles are the smallest and rarest of all sea
turtles. Their numbers have gone from over 40,000 nesting females to less
than 1000 today. They inhabit the Gulf of Mexico and have become victims of
the shrimping industry as well as being exploited for food, eggs, oils, and
their shells.
